It is very important to study and investigate alternative energy solutions through renewable energy sources due to the global fossil fuel crisis worldwide. Renewable energy sources includes solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, and geothermal energy, which have attracted extensive attention of many researchers worldwide. Geothermal energy is a sustainable and environmentally friendly renewable energy source that is used for different applications including space heating, space cooling, recreational, water desalination, and power generation. Jordan is known for its low- to moderate-temperature resources; therefore, geothermal energy is mainly utilized for direct applications including space heating, cooling, agriculture, and recreation but not for power production. Geothermal resources in Jordan are particularly near the Dead Sea, Ma’in, and Zara areas. This chapter summarizes the work that has been conducted in the field of geothermal energy resources in Jordan.

摘要
