The next five chapters present the crystal structure determination and Rietveld refinement of various intermetallic compounds. This chapter describes the structure of LaNi₄.₈₅Sn₀.₁₅, solved using the geometric deduction method and Fourier maps. The structure refinement, discussed in detail, was performed using the Rietveld method with both Cu Kα and Mo Kα radiation data sets separately, as well as through a combined refinement using both data sets.
