Measurement of AI-Based Drivers of Smart Supply Chain Toward Sustainability in the Era of Industry 5.0

The Fifth Industrial Revolution, referred to as Industry 5.0 (I5.0), along with smart technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) presents tremendous potential for creating an inclusive digital future for supply chains (SCs). Smart technologies’ swift and effective advancement has led to the creation of smart supply chains (SSCs). I5.0 and AI present immense potential to create an inclusive digital future by ensuring the resilience and sustainability of SCs. An SSC is an intelligent, value-driven, and efficient process designed to generate new revenue streams and business value for organizations. The study aims to identify key AI-based drivers crucial for Industry 5.0 to enhance SSC sustainability. Based on a literature and expert discussions, a list of key drivers was developed and further evaluated by use of the Fuzzy DEMATEL mathematical algorithm to achieve the objective. The present study’s findings may help managers, stakeholders, and researchers identify key drivers crucial for I5.0 to improve the sustainability of SSC.
