Navigating the journey of research papers, from submission to publication, can be challenging in academia. Researchers frequently encounter difficulties managing numerous documents, comprehending their statuses, and ensuring timely updates. This article addresses the development and assessment of an innovative paper-tracking system known as TrackMinder, which aims to improve the efficiency and transparency of the academic publication process. Following the development, an online survey was conducted to evaluate its effectiveness, gathering responses from 50 researchers. The assessment framework was grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and focused on three key elements: Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), and Intention to Adopt (ITA). The quantitative analysis employed descriptive statistics and correlation analysis to investigate these components, while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic and sentiment analysis techniques. The quantitative findings reveal that TrackMinder is both user-friendly and advantageous, with respondents showing a strong willingness to continue using it in the future. Significant relationships exist between PU, PEOU and ITA. Furthermore, sentiment analysis aligns with these results, indicating that most users have a favorable or neutral opinion of TrackMinder. These results suggest that the prototype has been positively received by its intended audience and has significant potential to enhance the academic publishing workflow.
