Knowledge Management as a Support for Cultural Innovation and Promotion: A Study of Knowledge Management Practices – The Case of ADER-Fès
摘要
This paper explores the critical importance of knowledge management (KM) in fostering cultural innovation, particularly within the context of ADER-Fès, a key organization in the Fez-Meknes region dedicated to heritage restoration. This research employs a qualitative, exploratory approach, using non-participant direct observation and semi-structured interviews to assess ADER-Fès's KM practices. The study reveals the framework within ADER-Fès for managing historical, technical, and cultural knowledge, which is crucial for the effective conservation of the rich heritage of the Fez-Meknes region. However, the research also highlights critical areas for improvement, such as the enhancement of documentation systems, communication strategies, continuous professional development, technological integration, and organizational change. Focusing on these strategic areas, the paper proposes a forward-looking approach that seeks to address the current gaps and prepare the organization for future challenges in the dynamic field of cultural heritage management. The paper concludes with the expectation that ADER-Fès will significantly improve its operations and contributions to global cultural heritage preservation by implementing these strategies. The organization's commitment to continuous improvement and adaptation is poised to set a benchmark for KM in cultural heritage institutions. The findings and proposals in this paper will serve as a roadmap for ADER-Fès's future strategy, ensuring the preservation and valorization of cultural heritage for generations to come.
