There has been much research and speculation about the future of jobs with AI replacing human beings. As much as there are threats, there are also opportunities as we begin to understand how AI impacts from strategic and operational perspectives. This chapter frames the issues through a brief review of the types of skill sets that can be replaced by AI. The goal is to discover what is uniquely human in terms of human ontology. This will lead to an examination of scientific studies of the higher states of consciousness, in particular the fourth state of consciousness or transcendental consciousness. The ability of the human nervous system to transcend itself offers many unique abilities. Cultural nuances supported by emotional intelligence, and spiritual attributes that manifest into other competencies, are what AI may find difficult to mimic. The notion of sentience in AI is also discussed regarding its impact on the collaboration between AI and humans. The experience of being with its correlations in the hardware of human physiology and software in terms of the psychology of consciousness and cognitions are discussed with recent scientific research insights. The chapter concludes with some inspiring directions in India, China, and Africa which call for a fusion of the complementarity of the fourth industrial revolution with AI and traditional knowledge systems.
