Exploring the Potential of Electrochemical Sensors in Precision Agriculture for Bahrain

Precision agriculture offers up various solutions to optimize the use of resources and increase the yield of crops in arid regions such as Bahrain. Electrochemical sensors are emerging as crucial technologies in the field of precision agriculture due to its ability to provide real time data on vital soil parameters. This study explores the role of electrochemical sensors in precision agriculture practices that are relevant to Bahrain, including the monitoring of soil moisture levels, nutrient level detection and salinity measurement. The study also aims to assess the current adoption status of precision agricultural systems in Bahrain’s agricultural sector and identify its potential challenges or opportunities for a wider implementation. This study reviews scholarly work and articles to investigate the potential of electrochemical sensor technologies and precision agriculture technologies within the context of Bahrain’s agricultural sector. This study recommends the promotion of the adoption of electrochemical sensor technologies by analyzing the economic and environmental benefits of electrochemical sensor driven precision agriculture. Eventually, the study attempts to contribute to Bahrain’s sustainable agricultural development through the strategic integration of electrochemical sensing technology.
