The authors considered determining the level of household food security through food consumption, the share of food and non-alcoholic beverages in the structure of total household expenditures. The authors analyzed food consumption in households depending on the place of residence and the presence of children in the household. Particular attention was paid to food consumption by households with different per capita income levels. In order to achieve food security for households, the state's social policy should be aimed at ensuring food consumption at the level determined by rational norms. The Government should recognize food security of households as one of the priorities of social policy.
