Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been introduced since the 1950s. Nevertheless, the explosion of AI integration is becoming more widespread starting in 2021. The advantages of AI are undeniable considering that they have been used in various fields such as retail, transportation and finance. However, the use of AI in the field of Islamic finance, especially Zakat, is seen as less well received. Therefore, this paper discusses the challenges that exist in Zakat distribution. Next, analysis of AI application, especially in Zakat distribution, is covered in more detail. Finally, this study presents the possible challenges integration of AI in Zakat. By investigating current practices, technological innovations, and the challenges encountered, this study provides insights into how AI can optimize Zakat operations and address issues of mismanagement, fraud, and inefficiency.
