This narrative study aims to explain how postnatal programs have been developed and what their future is in light of becoming one of the core tourism services. Particular attention is given to Malaysia. A complete understanding of postnatal tourism services was constructed by analyzing secondary data from academic publications, government reports, books, and online sources. The range of postnatal services provided is enormous. Both traditional Malay confinement practices and the more contemporary health retreats are being marketed as part of wellness tourism. All these services heavily rely on government support, specifically from MOH and MOTAC, for regulating and promoting such services. This finding once again reiterates that more training, certification requirements, and stakeholder coordination will enhance the quality and safety of services. They also identify the postnatal programs’ economic potential in diversifying Malaysia’s tourism business. This paper also draws on the importance of cultural heritage and government activities in developing innovative, sustainable tourism products that could meet the growing demand for wellness.
