Innovative Solutions to Water Scarcity in Moroccan Agriculture
摘要
Water scarcity represents a significant challenge for Moroccan agriculture, driven by escalating water demand, decreasing water efficiency, and the growing impacts of climate change. This study investigates a variety of innovative solutions aimed at mitigating water scarcity in the region, including drip irrigation systems, precision agriculture, water conservation techniques, and genetic improvements. These solutions are evaluated through a comprehensive analysis of the key criteria that influence their adoption in the specific context of Moroccan agriculture. The article then develops a structured decision-making framework using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), which allows for the systematic pairwise comparison of these criteria. This methodology helps to determine the relative importance of factors such as water use efficiency, cost-effectiveness, environmental sustainability, scalability, and technological adaptability. The AHP framework provides a robust tool for decision-makers, enabling them to prioritize and select the most appropriate solutions based on the unique challenges and conditions of Moroccan agriculture. By applying this framework, the study offers a clear path for farmers, policymakers, and researchers to evaluate and choose innovations that best meet the region's agricultural needs. The insights gained emphasize the importance of context-specific solutions that not only address immediate water scarcity but also contribute to long-term sustainability. Ultimately, the proposed framework aims to enhance agricultural resilience, improve water resource management practices, and foster a more sustainable and productive agricultural sector in Morocco.
