Equity in healthcare is a fundamental objective for any society, ensuring that all individuals have access to necessary healthcare services regardless of their socio-economic status. This study employs Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to evaluate the spatial accessibility of healthcare in Tangier, focusing on how different populations access public hospitals and private clinics. Tangier provides a practical case study due to its manageable size and demographic diversity. As urban areas expand, the equitable distribution of healthcare services is crucial to promoting public and private health and ensuring fair outcomes for all community members. The research examines disparities in access to healthcare and aims to provide actionable information for health policymakers and planners. Access to Primary Health Care (PHC) is unequal across different regions and demographic groups within Tangier city. This inequality can lead to significant disparities in health outcomes. The study addresses the critical issue of how health service availability corresponds to population density and demographic characteristics, which is essential for planning equitable health services. Using GIS, the study maps walking times to the nearest healthcare facilities, classifying them into 10, 20, and 30 min zones. It integrates this data with demographic profiles to examine the accessibility landscape. Both public and private healthcare facilities are analyzed to provide an overview of healthcare service accessibility in the city.
