The aim of this work is to study the correlation between the data from Myocardial Perfusion SPECT (MPS) images and the data from electrocardiogram (ECG) signals in order to, in one hand, detect myocardial ischemia in terms of location, intensity, and progression, and in the other hand, optimize this data to obtain more diagnostic information and adapt the treatment of coronary insufficiencies. The study was a retrospective study of 85 patients suspect insufficiency coronary cardiac who underwent MPS and ECG with or without a stress test. And it was performed in the Nuclear Medicine Department of MOHAMMED V University Hospital in Marrakesh-Morocco. The result indicated that 50% of patients with suspect insufficiency coronary cardiac who have MPS correlated with ECG have positive MPS (MPSp) and positive ECG (ECGp) of inferior wall ischemia, while those with negative MPS (MPSn) and negative ECG (ECGn) represent only 6% of cases. However, 31% had both positive MPS (MPSp) and negative ECG (ECGn) and only 13% had both positive ECG (ECGp) and negative MPS (MPSn). These studies have implications for the diagnosis of coronary insufficiency, with sensitivity and specificity improved by MPS. As a result, MPS represents a means of exploring myocardial ischemia in its silent phase.
