Towards a Concept of an Autonomous Ship Alarms Monitoring System
摘要
Transportation by ship has the biggest share of worldwide trade. The increase in ship operation costs, in particular the cost of human resources and its lack, will negatively impact the maritime sector. In addition, human error is an important contributing factor to the maritime accidents. The implementation of autonomous ships is considered one of the alternative solutions for the sustainability of the sustainability of the maritime industry. Its implementation will metamorphose the marine environment in terms of operation and safety. This type of ship will operate remotely from a shore control system designed by qualified engineers. For this, efficient management becomes important for the safe remote operation of autonomous ships’ systems. The alarm monitoring system is one of these systems. The authors in this work have studied challenges posed by the increasing complexity of control systems and the rising need for automation in ship operations. All related alarms were evaluated in terms of criticality and response time. Some response scenarios were assessed.
