The rural people of Bangladesh face a pronounced disparity in access to medical services compared to urban areas, exacerbated by an inadequate number of skilled medical professionals relative to the arrival of seriously ill patients seeking treatment. Leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT) offers a potential solution to these challenges, presenting noteworthy technological advancements with the capacity to revolutionize daily life. This study aims to strategically determine the viability of selecting an appropriate approach to enable IoT integration in Bangladesh's rural healthcare sector. To achieve this goal, the study first identified significant constraints and potential solutions to integrate IoT in rural healthcare through structured questionnaire interviews and then prioritized these factors using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Additionally, a SWOT analysis was performed to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the rural healthcare sector, incorporating expert insights. The outcomes of the SWOT analysis revealed IoT-based telemedicine as a trustworthy and appropriate opportunity in the rural healthcare sector of Bangladesh. IoT-based telemedicine, which integrates IoT with traditional telemedicine practices, offers a compelling method for delivering healthcare remotely. At the end of the study, two models are being constructed by considering the outcomes of the AHP method and SWOT analysis and named “Interaction of duty doctors with patients and IoT devices” and “Direct interaction of patients with IoT devices”. The proposed models were validated through the Delphi technique. Lastly, one model is being constructed from the suggested models to gain an appropriate and accepted approach to help integrate IoT into the management of Bangladesh's rural healthcare sector.

摘要
