摘要
Aram Efendi was a distinguished figure in the field of agricultural science during the late Ottoman period. With a strong foundation in agricultural economics and mathematics, he authored influential works such as Muhasebe-i Ziraiyye [Agricultural Accounting] (1885) and Hendese-i Ziraiyye [Agricultural Geometry] (1897), integrating scientific principles into agricultural practice. In Hendese-i Ziraiyye, he emphasised the centrality of agriculture to all crafts and industries, advocating for the dissemination of scientific knowledge, modern tools, and infrastructure development. Appointed as a consultant to the Agricultural Technical Committee in 1897, Aram contributed significantly to agricultural policy reform. His role as a lecturer at the Halkalı School of Higher Agriculture further showcased his dedication to educating future agricultural professionals. His dual engagement in theory and practice marked him as a pioneer in modernising Ottoman agriculture.
