The chapter starts with an overview of the current trends in the emergence and development of international universities. Further, various implications of such universities for environmental, social, and economic sustainability are discussed. The rest of the chapter is structured around questions framed by the ideas of purpose-driven leadership on how international universities should operate to promote sustainability and to reduce their impact on the environment and the community welfare, while achieving greater economic sustainability.
