The chapter starts with an overview of the current trends in international research collaborations. Further, various implications of international research collaborations for environmental, social, and economic sustainability are discussed. The rest of the chapter is structured around questions framed by the ideas of purpose-driven leadership on how international research collaboration projects should be organized to minimize negative implications for the various aspects of sustainability.
