A detailed examination of the features of the formation of paper-based electrodes was carried out. A description is given of electrodes formed using metals, carbon-based materials, MAX phases, transition metal chalcogenides, metal oxides, conductive polymers, and composites. The features of manufacturing electrodes in energy storage devices are analyzed. The manufacturing features of transparent flexible electrodes are also described. Considerable attention is also paid to the consideration of technologies used for fabrication of flexible electrodes. It is shown that each approach that can be used for the manufacture of electrodes has its own characteristics, advantages, and limitations that must be taken into account when developing paper-based devices.
