The improvement ideas developed up to this point due to understanding the system better in addition to the improvement ideas that existed prior to starting the Six Sigma project may be very different; therefore, the phases Define, Measure, and Analyze prepare a Six Sigma team for much better improvement opportunities. In addition, improvement of a process requires a conceptual understanding of all the information collected during the prior three phases. Even though Analyze phase may appear as having a system analyzed through analysis of observations for can be improved, Six Sigma team member need to remember all accomplishments in all phases and outcomes throughout the project steps.
