TheDefine (*) main goal of the Six Sigma methodology is to incorporate statistics to process improvement for business excellence. The aim is to see the “big picture” of the operations in place and connect data available for analysis to target outcomes and have a holistic solution to identified problems by convening experts in the corresponding fields. In cybersecurity, there are common questions that are an interest in cyberthreat defense systems and continuous improvement is essential due to the need for revisiting these issues. Continuous improvement for resolving these issues will lead to more effective verification and validation for cybersecurity functions. At the highest level, the cybersecurity big picture involves integrating the five NIST functions in such a manner as to achieve the Target Profile. Define phase is the first step of the DMAIC approach where we define the problem and make sure that we have the right roadmap to complete the six sigma project.
