This chapter is devoted to studying the brainstem, one of the most complex anatomic regions of the encephalon. The chapter shows the lab training correlating the surface anatomy of the brainstem and the safe entry zone used to approach lesions inside the brainstem. Here the brainstem was classically divided in midbrain, pons, and medulla, and each segment is properly explored.
