Investigating Password Vulnerabilities and Protection Strategies
摘要
With the constant hacking and data theft threats, password protection remains a crucial yet unresolved issue. Many users still use weak passwords, like old phone numbers, their names, or birth dates, due to a lack of awareness of security issues and consequences. Strict password complexity rules often lead to frustration without significantly improving security. This study explores user education, motivation, and practical solutions to enhance strong password protection. It examines insecure behaviors, analyzes their causes, and tests various interventions such as informational campaigns, password managers, and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Through online questionnaires and offline interviews, the research aims to develop a framework for organizations to implement more convenient and secure password policies, ultimately contributing to safer password practices.
