With the recent advancements in communication and technology, various health monitoring devices and sensors have been developed for monitoring medical and healthcare fields. Wearable sensors, mobile applications, and other wireless devices such as smartwatches are some of the new possibilities for monitoring behavior and physical health. These devices are used to monitor the blood glucose, sugar rates and the heart rate of the fetus constantly. The Internet of Things (IoT) is an emerging technology that allows ordinary devices and gadgets to connect and the cloud. It is predicted that the IoT will expand exponentially into a network much larger and more pervasive than the Internet. It will transform society and also generate worldwide opportunities worth trillions of dollars. The health sector will be a principal beneficiary. Hospitals will use IoT not only to improve the quality of care while reducing costs but also to bring large populations of pregnant people in wide geographical areas under the health umbrella. In this research paper A smart maternal healthcare system will rely on its Hospital Information System (HIS) to deploy IoT devices is discussed. The proposed architecture enables people to access knowledge services by connecting to the HIS with third-party applications. The real-time information is later transferred to the healthcare providers providing a two-way communication. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is integrated into the healthcare interventions which are used in enhancing the patient outcomes in each of the stages such as diagnosis, treatment and the monitoring of patient control and care. AI models for health applications can significantly assist healthcare professionals and policymakers in making informed decisions and diagnoses for reducing adverse complications and negative outcomes.
