Simple LPG Gas Leakage Detection System with Alarm and Lighting Indication for Domestic Household Application and Its Mathematical Modelling
摘要
A survey has been conducted during village visit as part of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan extension activity. During the visit and communication with the local village people it was observed that many house hold had LPG gas cylinders being used for their cooking needs. In some of the families there were more elderly people who take care of the cooking. It was found that these elderly people had very little knowledge about gas leakage and detection. Since undetected gas can lead to fire hazards, explosion and even major accidents due to the leakage of the methane gas. Hence we have planned for development of a simple LPG Gas Leakage Detection System with Alarm and Lighting Indication for Domestic House hold Application. The principle behind LPG detection is based on chemiresistors typically a metal oxide semiconductor whose electrical resistance changes when exposed to garget gas molecules whenever the threshold exceeds a predefined value, system triggers an buzzer alarm and emergency light is flashed. This would provide both audible and visual indication for the handicapped people particularly who are blind and deaf. A successful demonstration was carried out practically and tested. A mathematical model is also illustrated. With features like smartphone notifications, visual alerts, and audible sirens, the main contribution of the MQ-5 based LPG detection system is to assist those with disabilities by making sure they receive early warnings in an accessible way.
