Exploring the Applications of the Internet of Things in Education and Training: Innovations and Future Perspectives
摘要
The Internet of Things (IoT) embodies an innovative paradigm in computing characterized by connecting various objects and devices through advanced communication technologies, enabling autonomous communication between these entities. This interconnectivity opens up significant prospects, particularly in traditional education and distance learning. Research shows an exponential growth in publications on IoT since 2010, with forecasts predicting 75 billion interconnected objects by 2025. Integrating sensors, communication devices, artificial intelligence, and machine learning facilitates this expansion by enabling real-time decision-making without direct human intervention. In education, IoT is transforming learning environments by offering interactive and personalized experiences while improving the management of educational infrastructures. This study examines the current state of IoT, highlighting its history, definitions, trends, and application in education. Methodologically, this research analyzes academic publications to track the evolution of IoT research and explores its educational applications. The findings show exponential growth in publications since 2010, covering various sectors. In education, IoT enhances learning environments with interactive and personalized experiences and improves the management of educational and training infrastructures. While technical and ethical challenges persist, trends suggest increasing IoT adoption, promising to transform our technological future.
