This chapter studies another factor that impacts student performance: families. But we will try to go beyond the mere observation that socioeconomic status is important for the results. Their active participation is decisive. In passing, the methodology of game theory is introduced as a tool to understand strategic interactions in educational environments, something that may be useful in other sections of the book.
