Layered teaching is an effective teaching strategy that can cater to the personalized needs of different students, improve teaching effectiveness, and promote students’ comprehensive development. The significant individual differences among students with intellectual disabilities in special education schools pose teaching challenges for teachers. This study takes the lesson “Interesting Expressions of Cats” as an example to illustrate the effective implementation of hierarchical teaching strategies in information technology courses in special education schools. It elaborates on the design of hierarchical teaching objectives, content, and process from three aspects, providing reference for the reform of hierarchical teaching for special education school teachers.
