The research aimed to identify smart management capabilities of secondary school principals in education directorates in Baghdad according to the administrative intelligent and leadership competencies. The study used incentives as a descriptive method, by analyzing five main areas of smart management: strategic planning, self-awareness, skills, organization and culture. A purposive sample consisting of 102 secondary school principals from education directorates (Rusafa1) and (Karkh2), was taken to fill questionnaire the latter representing a complete sample of the target population. validated has been built an advanced measurement tool composed of 56 items across the five domains of strategic planning (21%), self-awareness (21%), culture (21%) and both skills (18%) and organization (18%). There was robust expert review of the assessment instrument with overall high levels of consensus, strongest for skills (100% agreement). The results revealed that principals performed well in their management practices and excelled particularly in flexibility and adaptability (4.7/5) and communication skills (4.5/5). Out of all the difficulties cited, time management was the most recurring (22.8% of reports), followed by shortages of resources (21.4%). The research itself clearly articulated the link between more practices of administrative intelligence and effectiveness of school leadership, finding principals competent but adequate in all domains assessed. A statistical analysis of the data revealed that school principals had specific strengths in problem-solving organizational issues and showed evidence of predictability as a forward-looking framework. It was also revealed that the age factor would be an advantage for management skills among the participants, leading to better management practices.
