Internet of Disease (IOD): A Web Block Chain Framework for Genetic Disease Tracking Using Family Chain
摘要
Personalized medicine and disease prevention have been enabled by genetic research, but management of sensitive genetic data across generations has been challenging. In order to address these challenges, we propose the Internet of Disease (IOD) framework—a blockchain-based system for tracking genetic diseases in family trees. Using Hyperledger Fabric as its blockchain infrastructure, IOD provides a permissioned network for genetic and health data management. Among the key components are sophisticated data layers for representing individuals, families, and relationships, as well as smart contracts for governing access and updates to genetic data. The decentralized application allows users to visualize their family tree and create personalized health dashboards (DApp). While maintaining strict privacy controls, the system enables secure sharing of genetic information. The IOD framework offers a promising solution to the secure management and analysis of genetic disease data by combining blockchain's immutability and transparency with advanced cryptographic techniques. The IOD framework is described in detail, along with preliminary performance results that demonstrate its viability.
