The paper presents the results of the studies of production and destruction processes in the plankton community of the apex of the Taganrog Bay, carried out in April and June of 2024. Some intensity changes of production and destruction processes at standard horizons corresponding to 0; 0.5; 1; 2; and 3 of the water transparency have been noted along the Secchi disk. A high intensity of production and destruction processes in early summer compared to spring has been observed. An intensity increase of the processes has also been recorded, accompanied by a decrease in values of net plankton production at the stations with higher salinity. The results obtained this year have been compared with the data from the apex and middle parts of the Taganrog Bay, obtained in 2018, 2019 and 2020. It was specified that in the autumn of 2020, in the apex of the bay, the indicators studied were similar to June indicators of this year. The results obtained in July of 2018 differ significantly from those of April 2019. There was a similar pattern of production changes with depth (gradual decrease) at all stations where the work was carried out in the summer and early autumn. Their difference from those stations that have been studied in the spring is shown and for which a similar pattern is not noted. It was revealed that when comparing our results with the literature data of 2008–2010, we could see that in the spring-summer of 2024, the values of gross primary production exceeded the average values of 2008–2010, - 0.890 g/m3*day.

Some intensity changes of production and destruction processes at standard horizons corresponding to 0; 0.5; 1; 2; and 3 of the water transparency have been noted along the Secchi disk.
