Creating, propagating, and scattering inelastically scattered electrons are fully incorporated into Yoshioka’s equations. The key part of the theoretical work is to solve these coupled equations for the process of interest. In this chapter we first discuss the Bloch wave approach for single inelastic-scattering processes. Then the theory is extended to cases where double inelastic scattering is appreciable. The equations derived can be applied to inelastic-scattering processes provided the appropriate transition matrix elements are known. Full dynamic scattering effects are considered. Finally the Bloch wave solution for imperfect crystals is given.
