The Global Solution to AI
摘要
This book has argued that in order to confront the risks posed by AI, we not only have to understand how artificial intelligence is different from the human mind, but we also have to regulate AI through external protections. Since we may not be able to program empathy, reason, and restraint into these programs, we have to find a way to impose our own values and will. Moreover, due to the global nature of research and communication, we need a global solution to this global problem. The first step in this process is to start thinking about AI in the same way that we think about chemical and biological weapons, and this means that we need international agreements and enforcement to counter this threat to humanity. In order to clarify what should be done, I will examine Yuval Harari’s Nexus, which also points to a global intervention concerning the spread of artificial intelligence.
