The physical and electrical properties of semiconductor devices operating at low temperatures are explored in this chapter. Fundamental parameters-such as carrier density, mobility, and different scattering mechanisms-are examined to reveal the process in which cryogenic environments enhance conductivity and reduce leakage currents. A thorough basis for understanding how semiconductor technologies can be optimized to exploit these low-temperature benefits are provided in this chapter.

摘要

The physical and electrical properties of semiconductor devices operating at low temperatures are explored in this chapter. Fundamental parameters-such as carrier density, mobility, and different scattering mechanisms-are examined to reveal the process in which cryogenic environments enhance conductivity and reduce leakage currents. A thorough basis for understanding how semiconductor technologies can be optimized to exploit these low-temperature benefits are provided in this chapter.
