Seismic Response of Continuous Girder Bridges Considering Pounding Between the Girder and Abutment Under Near-Fault Ground Motions
摘要
The construction of bridges near faults has become inevitable. The finite element model of a five-span continuous girder bridge was established. The bridge seismic responses under different types of ground motions were analyzed, and the influence of ponding between the girder and the abutment on bridge seismic responses was studied. The influence of the pulse characteristics of the near-fault ground motion, such as pulse period, pulse velocity amplitude, on the bridge seismic response was also investigated. The results show that the decrease of the seismic response of bridges is due to the ponding between the girder and the abutment. The seismic response of bridges decreases with the increase of pulse period and increases with the increase of velocity pulse amplitude. When the ponding is considered, the influence of pulse characteristics of the near-fault ground motion on the seismic response of bridges is weakened.
