In previous chapters, we have learned about the heterogeneous and dynamic structure of the material inside bones and that muscle forces acting on the skeleton are large relative to the forces exerted on bone by the outside world. By bringing these two aspects of skeletal tissue mechanics together, this chapter focuses on the factors that contribute to tissue-level and whole bone mechanical properties.

摘要

In previous chapters, we have learned about the heterogeneous and dynamic structure of the material inside bones and that muscle forces acting on the skeleton are large relative to the forces exerted on bone by the outside world. By bringing these two aspects of skeletal tissue mechanics together, this chapter focuses on the factors that contribute to tissue-level and whole bone mechanical properties.
