High-Field MRI Pulse Sequences

This chapter explores the design considerations for MRI pulse sequences at high magnetic field strengths, with a particular focus on 7T systems. This chapter highlights how imaging considerations change as field strength increases. It discusses the advantages of high-field MRI, including the increased signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), improved spectral separation, and unique tissue contrasts. It also reviews the technical challenges to imaging at high field strengths such as susceptibility artifacts, RF field inhomogeneity, and increased energy deposition.
