This book has illustrated and analysed the power and politics of medical education, just as a social scientist would analyse the power and politics of any other aspect of society and social practice. We have presented accounts of practice, each with its accompanying commentary and analysis. We gave the authors no guidance on what they might write about. We simply asked that they might reflect on an issue that was of current concern to them. To that extent, we have a book that describes the lived experience of 35 people learning or working in medical education in 11 different countries in four different continents. The overlapping concerns that they describe attest to and challenge the globalisation of medical education and its reinforcement of the inequality between global north and global south.

摘要
