Taste Sensation and Taste Buds
摘要
Taste is the ability to tell the difference between flavours in the mouth. It is also the sensory experience that results from the stimulation of special nerve cells or receptors on the tongue, palate, pharynx, larynx and other areas of the oral cavity. Taste, along with the sense of smell, determines the flavours of food and other substances. The gustatory centre in the brain’s cortex is responsible for taste perception.
