Tooth bleaching is a process aimed at whitening or lightening discoloured teeth or improving their colour. Chemical agents are placed either inside a tooth (intracoronal bleaching) or on the outside surface of teeth (extra coronal bleaching). Not all discolouration can be successfully whitened.
