This chapter describes tricuspid valve lesions: tricuspid valve stenosis is rare as an isolated defect, with clinical symptoms dependent on the degree of stenosis. Anaesthetic management aims to avoid tachycardia and promote forward flow with decreasing pulmonary vascular resistance. Inotropes might be needed for impaired function and arrhythmias need to be treated. Tricuspid valve regurgitation is rare as a isolated defect. Symptoms depend on severity of regurgitation and associated lesions. Anaesthetic management aims to promote forward flow by decreasing pulmonary vascular resistance and to avoid bradycardia.
