Central Venous Catheter (CVC) Insertion Techniques
摘要
Catheter-related complications weigh heavily in patient safety. Ultrasound technique has greatly improved early complications of placement. Correct placement of the catheter tip at the transition between superior vena cava and right atrium is investigated by numerous techniques. The best is undoubtedly the technique related to the P wave shape of the ECG in its modifications using an endocavitary electrode. Fundamental to the prevention of late complications such as infection, thrombosis, and dislocation/rupture is the observation of specific bundles and targeted professional skills.
