Even so, womenWomen play crucial roles as agents and leaders in driving collaborative initiatives for climate adaptationAdaptation and disaster risk reduction. In Brazil, genderGender and ethnic inequalitiesInequality are deeply rooted and unfair, and despite socially constructed disparities, womenWomen survive more from landslides, storms, and extreme temperatures than men. In this work, we cover the potential of disaggregated data on disaster victims through a genderGender lens to unveil important hidden elements for disaster risk reduction. We present a remote platform called Sobrevidas©Sobrevidas©, a user-friendly responsive online platform that collects qualitative and quantitative data, as well as provides valuable insights on potential human resources and capabilities of womenWomen in contexts of threat. We advocate for Sobrevidas©Sobrevidas© as an insightful tool for decision-makers to support genderGender grassroots initiatives, improve public policies to reduce inequalitiesInequality, enhance womenWomen’s safety, and prevent disasters.
