Analyses are given to show that adsorption can significantly interact with other CO2 storage mechanisms. Estimations for CO2 storage capacity will change when CO2 adsorption is taken into account, because of the higher effective density and change of rock wettability by CO2. The effects can be incorporated in a new efficiency factor for the classic formulas for storage capacity evaluation.
