Mode of Accretion and Jet Power in Episodic AGN Jets
摘要
In this chapter, we would like to discuss some of the results from the observations of radio loud active galactic nuclei (AGNs) showing episodic jet activity. We, for the first time, constrained the length of time during which the jet activity remained dormant. Moreover, we will discuss about strong evidence that the jet powers in two different consecutive episodes remain constant. We will furnish possible explanations for this. We will also show how we attempted to explore any possible connection between the episodic jet activity and mode of accretion in AGNs. Recent analysis of some of our GMRT observations show strong evidence of some AGNs being in the dormant state and having not yet started the new episode of jet activity.
