Most of the Black Hole X-ray Binaries are transient in nature and these sources show outbursts with different recurrence timescales. The variability timescales seen in the light curves of these sources vary from few tens of milliseconds to few years. The profile of the light curves of the outbursts are also found to vary from one outburst to the other of the same source. The physics behind trigger of such outbursts are still unclear. Here in this chapter, we discuss recurrent outbursts of select black hole X-ray transient sources with the Hardness Intensity Diagram (HID) signatures in each of the outbursts shown by the source. The study of HIDs of the outbursts of these sources clearly indicates that not all outbursts of black hole X-ray binaries trace a ‘q’ pattern during an outburst. While in one of the BHB sources the light curve profile is found to repeat along with the ‘q’ pattern in all the HIDs of its outbursts, it has been observed that in other black hole binary systems, there are possibilities of varying light curve profiles with varying HID patterns which need not be a ‘q’. We bring out the possible similarities and differences observed in the outbursts of these sources with reference to the profiles of the light curves and the respective HIDs traced in the outbursts.
