Marketing Classification of Vending Channels
摘要
This chapter explores the classification of vending channels based on product, price, distribution, and communication criteria. It begins with a product classification, distinguishing between mechanical and electrical vending machines, highlighting their evolutionary stages and interface types. Mechanical machines, operating without electricity, are simpler and used for bulk items, while electrical machines are more sophisticated, offering interactive features. The chapter also covers price classification, comparing cash, cashless, contactless, and touchless payment systems, and addresses distribution classification based on the channel lifecycle stages: introduction, growth, maturity, and decline. Additionally, it examines communication-based classification, contrasting anthropomorphized vending machines with humanlike features and behaviors against conventional nonanthropomorphized machines. This comprehensive classification provides a detailed understanding of the various factors influencing the vending industry.
