Electricity generation has always been marked by myriad technologies. Conventional power generation systems consist of mostly centralized plants connected to a high-voltage transmission network. However, utilizing renewable resources of energy (e.g., sunlight or wind) and converting them into electricity is the subject of distributed generation. This chapter discusses the two subjects followed by multi-energy generation systems and energy storage systems. DT achievements for each type of power generation are proposed afterwards.
