At a time when the social and economic balance of the countries of Europe and the world is being shaken daily, this paper aims to investigate and present how the health crisis of Covid-19 affected specific economies of Southern European and Mediterranean countries. In particular, the variables used in this research are the values of some key macroeconomic variables during the period 2017 to 2023, such as unemployment, inflation, GDP, etc. These variables, as well as the indicators presented, are considered crucial in order to simultaneously carry out a comparative approach of the economies of the four selected countries. The aim of this paper is to capture and evidence the demonstration - or not - of resilience of the economies of Greece, Spain, Portugal and Italy during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, through the data and the analysis conducted, it is possible to identify the level of economic security of each country, during the period 2017–2023. In conclusion, this research is set to directly enrich the existing literature, adding conclusions and results that have so far not been clear or widely shared in the academic community.
