Curriculum design is a complex process that requires careful consideration of various factors to ensure the effectiveness of educational programs. This chapter presents a comprehensive framework for curriculum design by outlining the essential steps of curriculum design in general, including environment analysis, needs analysis, principles, goal setting, content and sequencing, format and presentation, monitoring and assessment, and evaluation procedures. It points out key components necessary for designing an effective curriculum. Later, it aims to focus on a more specialized framework for curriculum design in Intensive English Programs. It describes the current applications used for the Intensive English Program curriculum in Türkiye.
